In this class we will focus a lot on properly giving credit to sources used for our informative and persuasive speeches. This works in two ways.
First, you should do research to find credible sources to support your introduction and main points for your speeches. These sources should eventually be included in the Works Cited section of your speech outline. You may also prepare these citations in advance as part of Assignment Two.
The citations should follow APA format, and while this class won't focus a lot on this citation method, I do ask that students do their best to take the sources they find and cite them in this way.
A great resource to assist students with these citations is Purdue University's Writing Lab website, which has a APA citation tool that can assist you in the APA citation process.

Second, in addition to properly citing sources in your Works Cited portion of your of your outline, it is also important to include oral references or verbal citations that take the sources you have used and incorporate them into your introduction or body of your speech.
